Mural at Pensacola’s Graffiti Bridge Captures a Mother’s Unbreakable Embrace – Thursday Vigil Planned

Free Kenlee Mural in Pensacola

A stunning new mural has appeared on Pensacola’s iconic Graffiti Bridge along N. 18th Avenue, transforming the historic railroad trestle into a powerful public tribute to the fight to Free Kenlee.

The artwork features a breathtaking orange-to-yellow gradient background — a picturesque Florida sunset — that radiates both beauty and quiet urgency. In bold white lettering across the center stands FREEKENLEE.COM. To the right is a striking black silhouette of mother Joy Zuraff tenderly holding her daughter Kenlee in the exact same embrace captured on bodycam footage two years ago — the heartbreaking moment DCF workers, accompanied by armed police, took Kenlee from her mother’s arms in March 2024.

This powerful image is a direct homage to the iconic mother-and-daughter photo featured prominently on FreeKenlee.com, now permanently painted on one of Pensacola’s most beloved community canvases.

The Graffiti Bridge, long a vibrant and ever-evolving space for street art, messages of love, memorials, and causes, now carries this emotional call for justice beneath colorful graffiti spelling “VAULT.” The mural’s warm sunset tones blend beautifully with the surrounding Florida landscape, making it a striking landmark for anyone driving or walking by.

For more than two years, Joy Zuraff has fought tirelessly to bring her daughter home. Kenlee, who lives with cystic fibrosis, was removed from her mother’s devoted home care despite no evidence of immediate danger. This mural stands as a visible reminder that a mother and child belong together, not separated by bureaucracy.

Next Court Date & Community Vigil The next critical court hearing is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Santa Rosa County Courthouse in Milton, Florida (4025 Avalon Blvd, Milton, FL 32583).

A peaceful vigil and rally is planned outside the courthouse beginning around 8:00 AM to stand with Joy and demand Kenlee’s immediate return. Supporters from across the region are encouraged to gather in solidarity.
